An 18th century miners dial with a lightweight mahogany tripod. The dial is 5.5″ (14cms) diameter and signed, ‘Baddely, Pattingham’ on a silvered engraved face with the outer ring divided to 360 degrees. There are two brass folding sight arms. The compass needle is in good working condition and has a locking arm. In good condition; some wear to the silvering on the dial, lacquer diminished on the brass. Tripod height 46.5″.
