Description

A rare drum microscope signed “Brunner à Paris rue des Bernardins”.

This microscope is the large model manufactured by the Swiss-born Parisian instrument maker, Jean Brunner, a high quality instrument maker who offered for sale surveying and optical instruments of great and improved construction like the present drum microscope.

Indeed, this microscope have an unusual drum base with a gimbal mount for the mirror. 

Furthermore, the stage is very original with two horizontal micrometric screws.

The objective have four achromatic doubles.

A rare and important French signature.

 

Some spots of rust on the original lackers but the microscope is mechanicaly and opticaly in perfect condition.

Height : 30 to 37 cm.
