Description

A fine example of a good size brass surveyor cross, preserved in its original round case in sheet metal but with a lot of additionnal string to replace the broken/missing string in the window where the hairs are placed.

The hair of replacement are rarely preserved.

The model is probably French, late 19th century.

Case : 8,5×16 cm ; round surveyor cross 7,8 cm diameter and 15 cm height.
