A Civil War-era Fahnestock Tonsillotome ( aka: tonsil guillotine)  by Snowden with checkered ebony handle  in good working order.  It is shown in the 1860 Snowden catalog. Some staining of metal but no rust.This Philadelphia firm was established in 1821 and continued in various iterations until 1900. Length retracted: 10. 25″ or  26 cm.
