Description

The first draw engraved, ‘W. Harris & Co., 50 Holborn, London. Patent Telescope for Measuring Angles and Distances. No 57′.

The second and third draws engraved with scales, the second additionally scribed, ‘Scale of Minutes Divided object Glass’, and ‘Scale of Minutes Single object Glass’.

There are two fixed wires and two pointers to the inside of the first draw tube for aligning objects.

It has an objective lens of 2 inches and the telescope measures 32 inches long when fully open and 10.5″ closed. With ray shade and folding tripod with compass joint and fastening clamp. The barrel is free of splits, there are no dents to the brass.

 

William Harris & Co were registered at 50 Holborn from 1800 – 1841.
