Description

A rare miniature and pocket Thorp’d direct vision diffrection spectroscope made and sold by Henri Calmels in Paris and we can date around 1900.

The little pocket spectroscope measures 4,7 cm lenght.

Despite some traces of oxydation on one side, the optics is in perfect condition and works perfectly (see the last one picture).

 

Henri Calmels was a fine ingineer and instrument maker based in Paris and specialized in optics, in photography and spectroscopy.

His spectroscope are rare.
