Country of manufacture

Categories: Medicine, Surgical instruments, Therapeutic & Functional Aids

A really superbe example of an iron tongue depressor in its most famous early form : the Ryff/Paré-type.

Indeed, Ryff and Paré introduced in 1539 and during the 1560s’ this form of tongue depressor for dentistry but also general surgery.

The present example, made in high quality steel and superbly handcrafted, is a late form slighty modified and absolutly similar to the one illustrated by Grengeot in his book about surgical instruments published in 1725.

The instrument is in perfect genuine condition, without any restoration and damage.

21,5 cm lenght
