Description

A large Austrian table, garden or mural brass sundial inscribed in latine “Fieri fecit nob. Dom Joan. L. Bar. de Stiebar etc / pro arca in Kröllendorf / 1856” and with the coat of arms of the Stiebar family.

The dial measures : 24×19 cm ; the gnonom 19 cm lenght and 13,8 cm height.

It’s an one-latitude sundial for the latitude of Kröllendorf in Austria.

A rare aristocratic and dated instrument.

 

The dal have been screwed on a thick wooden plate. It have been formelly polished but is still with lisible and without lack.
