Description

A quite unusual miniature houglass made of two bulbs with red sand inside.

The hourglass itself measures 5,5 cm height ; the entire instrument 7 cm height.

This small hourglass was certainly for measuring time of chemical experience as it was originall under a glass bell (now lost).

 

The brass stand allow to made rotate the hourglass and start the counting.

The sand flows in about 2 minutes and 35 secondes.
