Description

A full plate (21.5 x 16.5cms) autochrome by Olive Edis, of Sir John Tomes, the eminent nineteenth century dentist. 

Olive Edis was a pioneering female photographer and one of the earliest to experiment with the autochrome process. Very few of her photographs remain in private hands.
