An archimedean dental drill with wooden mountings. Probably English in origin and first-quarter of 19th century in date. Bennion shows a very similar drill with ivory mountings that she dates c.1800. Length with bit in place 24 cm; without bit 21.5cm. A very good example at a very reasonable price.
