Assayer’s Kit August Lingke & Co, dovetailed Mahogany case with collection of instruments, C 1865, Freiburg, Germany  Label reads in part “August Lingke & Co in Freiburg” Upper fitted velvet-lined tray with bone scale marked as above.  Second layer reveals a hinged box with a selection of tools and instruments, third layer having brass platform and brass balance scale in a fitted box.  Lower section with colorless glass jars holding appropriate chemicals for the testing of ores and minerals. Size width 11 3/4 ” x depth 8 3/4 ” and height 7 3/4″
