Description

Old antique surveyor’s level in the mid 19th Century made entirely of brass and coper. It comes with its original brass lens cover and has a fitting on the base for tightening onto a small tripod or stand.

It comes in its original fitted box which has been varnished. It truly is a nice instrument and it is in good condition. The lenses are undamaged and produce a clear inverted image however I’m sure they would benefit from a light clean and it is being sold as a decorative / collector’s item rather than an accurate scientific instrument. The box is strong and sturdy with its original brass latches but it does not have a key. Focus rack and pinion are missing but can be perfectly focused sliding the scope.
