Historically Important John Dunn’s Pentograph by Thomas Dunn of Edinburgh signed. T Dunn EDINr & T Dunn 402., In the Box lid there is a Trade Label for Thomas Dunn. 50 North Hanover Street Edinburgh., also there is a Hand Written Letter for Setting Dunn’s Improved Pantograph signed & dated: 27th February 1845. 50 North Hanover Street Edinburgh. Thomas Dunn. The Instrument is in very good & Complete Condition with most of its Original Gold Lacquer Intact. The Original Oak Box measures 35″ x 9″ x 5.1/2″ This Instrument was Heavily involved in the Pantograph Dispute with William Wallace with the similarity to his Eidograph! In my opinion Dunn’s Pentograph seems Superior, not using Chains?Wires & Pulley’s etc. John Dunn died in 1841. Thomas Dunn carrying on until the late 1860’s., the highest number recorded to date on a Pentograph is 866. Please see my other Listings: 8649 & 8650
