Description

Early binocular for radioscopic examination by Dessane – circa 1915

A good and unusual example, complete of its optic and radioscopic system, of very early instrument for radioscopic examination used during the First World War, called “Bonnette eclipse de Dessane”, and following the principle of the “Lorgnette humaine” invented by Seguy in 1897.

The binocular is like a little camera obscura composed of a large black glass (20×15 cm), behind which is placed a plate of platinocyanide, and of a second more little black glass (11×4 com) to close the camera obscura.

Despite some scratches on the large black glass, but no cracks, very good general condition of this rare radiographic instument.
