Description

All brass construction of typical form with 95% original, golden brown lacquer intact. Fine overall condition with two small areas of rubbing ( from case brackets – box now absent), no dents or bruises, this three inch diameter ( 7.5cm.) Gregorian, reflecting telescope is completely original. Good optics, short screw, excellent speculum mirror, screw on end cap, butterfly/wing nuts to a pleasing and angle knurled (roped), baluster-type, folding tripod stand. 15 inches tall, 17″ long and signed in block letters ” I. * BADDELEY, ALBRIGHTON”. Clifton lists John Baddeley as actively working there in 1784. Rare maker of scientific instruments !!!
