Description

A fine Victorian, brass, metal leaf electroscope of petite format with bakelite insulated end marked “Epsom College”. Measuring just 4″ long and standing  a maximum of 10″ on the friction fit adjustable turned profile base. The lens systems of the eyepiece provides a clear, magnified image from either end but since this is for demonstrations in electrostatics ( contact and induction), it is imperative that one end be insulated/neutral. The upper round, brass and steel post is thereby connected to the thin metal leaf internally via insulated collar, and still functions. Beautiful original condition. Two inch diameter body tube.
