Description

A good example of a pocket sundial/compass compendium for the traveler. Mid-nineteenth century design with silvered dial for the compass (divided) and silvered ring for the sundial. Folding, bird shaped gnomen ( small spot of verdigris) has the ability to be adjusted for latitudes + or – 20 degrees. Compass needle (blue and silver) points to magnetic North. Mahogany case with two brass hooks (one needs pin replacing-included). Good, uncleaned condition. Case measures 3 x 2 3/4 x 3/4 ” thick.
