Description

Solid, but simple angle meter of brass in the original 18th century case, baize-covered inside. On this early instrument the compass is not yet fixed to the instrument. In the lid written with pencil the name of the owner in the 19th century, but barely legible: ‘Arsenal’ with address and the year 1846. In the case a little box with flap for tools.

Richer had a workshop in Paris from 1743 until 1820.

All his instuments he simply signed with, Richer à Paris.
