Description

Rare set consisting of a wooden structure with a Hughes-type carbon microphone, a Bell-type telephone and a dry battery.

The layout of this instrument was designed to demonstrate a typical experiment of the time and the sensitivity of the carbon microphone: by placing a watch in the special shelf you could hear the ticking on the telephone receiver.

Set made by the Italian company “Manuelli” active at the end of 1800. complete and in good general conditions. The dry battery  is obviously exhausted.

the watch is not included in the sale but only as a demonstration.
