  • IMPORTANT 12″ (CLOSED) BRASS SECTOR SIGNED J. BRADLEE MOSCO FECIT.
  • JOHN BRADLEE WAS APPRENTICED TO JOHN WORGAN LATE 1690’S – MOVED TO MOSCOW 1710 – 16 ST PETERSBURG 1716 – 43 HE DIED IN 1743.
  • IT WOULD APPEAR THAT ONLY 4 INSTRUMENTS BY THIS EARLY MAKER ARE RECORDED.  THE FOUR NOW IN RUSSIAN MUSEUMS, AN ANALEMMATIC SUNDIAL, MADE FOR PETER THE GREAT, SIGNED J. BRADLEE MOSCO FECIT(SAME SIGNATURE AS THIS SECTOR) IS IN THE LOMONOSOV MUSEUM ST PETERSBURG.
  • 2 SUNDIALS SIGNED J. BRADLEE ST PETERSBURG FECIT, TOGETHER WITH A GUNNERS CALIPER ARE IN THE HERMITAGE MUSEUM IN LENINGRAD
  • REF JOHN BRADLEE AND HIS SUN DIALS VALENTIN L CHENAKAL, LOMONOSOV MUSEUM OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE USSR.
  • THIS SECTOR WOULD APPEAR TO BE THE FIRST SURVIVING INSTRUMENT BY THIS EARLY ENGLISH MAKER TO APPEAR OUTSIDE RUSSIA.
  • POSSIBLY USED IN THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF HIS SUNDIALS
  • SHOWN WITH A 6 INCH SECTOR BY JOHN WORGAN FOR COMPARISON ONLY
