Description

Early Jones Hand Sewing Machine, serial number 34327, circa 1882

Elaborate brass face plate model.

High quality collectible sewing machine, known affectionately as,

Swan Neck, Serpentine & Cat Back.

In good condition but with some losses to the black stove enamel, gilt decoration and the central logo all but worn off.

Runs effortlessly sewing neat stitches which are adjustable in size.

It has had a light clean and general lubrication, all running smoothly with no excessive wear, bobbin is wound with the patent winder, sets up and sews with a good stitch.

Very early example of this well engineered model.

Good and heavy sits like a rock in use.

With some accessories, a user manual with charming informative illustrations of this exact machine (sewn binding with some detachments) and original worn but sound, painted pine box with slide opening front.
