Description

A large spy-glass signed, James Wallace, Glasgow’. There is not much written about James Wallace although he is noted in Websters Signature Directory. The optics are Galilean with an achromatic main lens. This gives a fairly high magnifibation but a limited field of view. Open, it measures 8″ (20 cms) and closed, 5.25″ (13 cms). It is in good condition, no dents, good undamaged lenses. Circa 1850.
