Description

SOLD – A brass library telescope on stand with front plunger steady bars and adjustment bar to the back (two settings). The telescope barrel length is 31 inches, 40 inches with the draw tube attached. The main lens has a diameter of just over 2 inches. Telescope can turn 360 degrees with the tripod in situ and is equipped with a terrestial eyepiece and two celestial eyepieces (one low power and one high power), both with detachable sun filters.

The telescope gives good images when viewed, the lenses are damage free.

There is a very small dint on the barrel just in front of the rack wheel. The lacquer is very rubbed. I believe the two thumb screws holding the telescope to the tripod are replacements.

Contained in original mahogany case with two hooks and lock (no key). The case is free of cracks / splits but appears to have had something spilt on it. With trade label for Charles Baker (1851 – 1909).

GB Scientific Inspirations

Scientific Inspirations

I live in Lancashire (U.K.) and have been a dealer and collector of scientific and nautical instruments for a number of years. My stock has included some fine items from museums and colleges, which were surplus to their requirements. I occasionally purchase some interesting items from abroad, having established some reliable sources.
