Description

THE LAMP IS MOUNTED BY BALL AND SOCKET JOINT TO A HEAVY BRASS BASE, TOGETHER WITH THE USE OF A SPHERICAL GLASS OIL CONTAINER, ALLOWING THE LAMP TO BE TILTED AND THE OIL REMAINING LEVEL WITHIN THE SPHERE.  THE BURNER, THE BRONZE CHIMNEY AND THE GLASS OIL CONTAINER SIT IN A BRASS RING WITH RETAINING SCREWS ALLOWING IT TO REVOLVE 360.  THE UNUSUAL RACKING SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A RACKED SQUARE SECTION BAR WITH A SQUARE PINION BOX CARRYING A ROUND BRASS TUBE OVER THE SQUARE BAR.  THIS UNUSUAL LAMP IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, MUCH ORIGINAL LACQUER REMAINS WITH SOME SPOTTING TO THE BASE.  COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL MAHOGANY CASE.  THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THIS MODEL ROSS LAMP THAT I AM AWARE OF.
