PNEUMATIC TRACTION DEVICE

PNEUMATIC TRACTION DEVICE

$350.00

Circa

1930

Category: Therapeutic & Functional Aids

Description

This remarkable looking device was worn on the shoulders and was meant to provide neck(i.e., cervical) traction. It was controlled pneumatically. Not clear if it was meant for the ambulatory patient or only those confined to bed. It is stamped with a maker’s name on the back of the top bar but I have not been able to identify the firm. Not working as offered but the replacement of tubing and lubrication of the pistons should offer a solution. Leather chin strap shows wear.
