Description

Extraordinary pair of sculpted capitals in the shape of a navy officer’s end of the 1700s-early 1800s. Certainly coming from the cabin of a probably English military sailing ship.  The bicorn hat was typical of the British navy at Nelson’s time and was reserved only to officers. To note the hairstyle braids that comes out of the typical hat of the time. The surface was lacquered with golden bronze paint, of which some traces remain in the corners. exceptional finds of a glorious era.

Obviously I am happy to receive suggestions on the origin and timing of these artifacts .
