Description

In 1899 in Como there is a big event for the first centenary of the invention of the electric battery invented by Alessandro Volta. This rare memorial item contains some symbolic objects of Volta’s history. On a granite base a Bronze  can ‘explode a shot if loaded with gas and in contact with a spark discharged on the spark gap (missing the cork).Alessandro Volta first fire methane gas by means of an electric discharge. On the right we find a small reproduction of a Volta’s pile and a frog : these two object symbolizing the strong debate between Luigi Galvani and Alessandro turn on electricity origin (animal or metallic).
