VERY GOOD 18th C. TELL-TALE COMPASS BY GREGORY/GREGORY & WRIGHT. THE COMPASS IS UNUSUAL HAVING THE TOP COMPASS CARD SIGNED GREGORY & WRIGHT LONDON ( HENRY GREGORY & GABRIEL WRIGHT W. 1782-1790.) THE UNDERNEATH COMPASS CARD IS SIGNED GREGORY NEAR YE INDIA HOUSE LONDON ( HENRY GREGORY W. 1744-1782.) THE EARLIER COMPASS CARD HAS THE EARLY FEATURE OF HAVING THE EAST POINT DECORATED TO REMIND THE MARINER OF THE DIRECTION OF JERUSALEM.
