Description

A tellurium with lunarium showing the movements of the earth and moon in relation to the sun. Published early 20th century by Paul Räth at Leipzig with all names printed in Dutch. Rotating with a Moon ball on geared arm around candle and parabellum representing the Sun, on bronzed cast-iron base with a supporting hand-operated mechanism, paper ring on disc showing the houses of the Zodiac, and a counterweight. With a miniature terrestrial globe with a diameter of 10 cm. consisting of 12 paper gores and 2 polar caps, the continents are coloured in different shades of yellow and orange, the seas in a brown shade. Also showing some major sea-routes in light red lines. (The paper ring in professional facsimile. Overall in very good condition and still operational.)
