Description

Offered for sale is a simple microscope of the type promoted by John Ellis (1707-1776). It became a popular design and was manufactured in various forms by a number of British and Continental makers. This one is a late model, showing signs of transition to Cary Gould type (http://www.antique-microscopes.com/photos/ellis.htm)

The microscope is in excellent condition retaining nearly all of its original laqueur
