| A good example of this cleverly designed instrument. Devised in the 19th century, for military use, it is still in production today, used for general surveying and forestry. The modern ones, made of different materials, aren't as pretty as this one. Reads to 5 arc-minutes by vernier, It is in excellent condition, and very useable, as shown in the photos. The last photo shows the polished metal mirror for viewing the level from below. Length 140mm (5.5inches) closed, 187mm (7.4 inches) with sighting tube extended. Ganymede Stock No. 35-3729. |
