18th century rare bronze pill gilder in very good condition, the same is in the collection of the Swiss museum.

Pharmacie historical museum Basel and is described in the book from the history of medicine by Lydia Mez-Mangold

In the 18th and 19th century, pills were silver-plated or gold-plated by the pharmacist, which was thought to enhance the medicinal effect, and

the exclusive gold-plated medicines were only payable

by the wealthy bourgeoisie
