An 18th century mahoagany barrelled telescope signed, ‘Dollond, London’. Fully drawn it measures 55″ ( 140 cms ) long and closes down to 14″ ( 36 cms ). The main lens is 2.75″ (7 cms ) diameter. The telescope is mounted on the table – top tripod with a clasp; the height to the top of the clasp is 14″ ( 36 cms ).
It is in well used but good condition, giving a sharp image and a good magnification of approx 40x. All 5 draw tubes operate smoothly without play or slack. With damage free lenses.
