Description

SOLD – Circa 1840, Weiss amputation / post mortem set in lined mahogany case ( 10.25″ x 4.5″).

The universal handle on the saw also fits the two additional blades.

All handles are ebony.

All items signed ‘Weiss’ apart from the 6 scalpels of which three are signed, ‘Moyes’ and the other three ‘Young’. The tweezers are signed ‘Laundy’.

All very clean, no chips or cracks anywhere. No splits to the case – very clean. Trade label to inside base for Weiss at 62 Strand, London. John Weiss worked at this address from 1831 – 1851.
