Description

Whale bone scrimshaw representing a shoe horn (rare) with:
– on the upper part the representation of the American symbols (flag and eagle)
– in the center in a medallion a sailor at the helm
– and on the lower part the inscriptions ” DON’T GIVE UP THE SHIP” and “USS Maine 1898”.
On the back an “N” surmounted by a crown with a cross.
Dimension: length of 14.5 cm;
USA dated 1898.
