Unusual style of microscope, the bottom lug sits into the sleeve to the top of the lid, constructed in black enamelled brass and white metal, with diaphragm fixed under the stage and double sided mirror. The height is 9.5″ ( 24 cms ) racked down to the top of the lid and 12.5″ ( 32 cms ) fully racked out. The microscope can be turned 180 degrees and elevated almost 90 degrees.
Early / mid 20th c.
The case, 11.5″ x 6.75″, holds a large black enamelled stage ( 7″ x 3″ ) and a small case of implements.
