Description
These portable microscopes were in use in the late 17000s. They are fairly rare. The brass lacquered pillar threads into the top of the box. Included is the concave mirror plate, and 4 threaded eye pieces, and all items that are shown in the fitted box.
The fish skin box has slightly warped & therefore is unable to close with the 2 clasps. It is also worn – as comparable with it’s age.
The mirror has discolouring around it’s edge.
2 of the lenses don’t have brass screw on caps.
