A rare spirit analyzer ”for ascertaining the quantity of Alcohol in wines, cordials etc” made by Joseph Long in London, ”in accordance with the Treasury order of July 12, 1853″
The tool is well preserved and could be used for all kind of spirits, wines and beer. Brass still with glass baker (missing the original rubber tube), brass hydrometer and glass containers (missing one hydrometer weight). Boxwood sliding thermometer and proof rule. The instrument are stored inside their original mahogany case with ivory maker label on the lid. The lock needs attention and could be restored. Case size 34 x 20 x 12 cms circa.
