A fine, complete and working Dupuytren double lithotome by Charrière, datable circa 1850.


This urology instrument, used to get access to the blader to remove the stone, has two hidden blades.

By adjusting with a wheel screwed on the base of the handle, the surgeon chose to more or less deploy the two blades according to the size of the stone to broke.

The instrument is constructed of ebony for the handle, steel and blued steel.

It measures 26cm in length.
