A very nice model of a Sims or Valleix hysterometer graduated from 1 to 18 used to measure the uterus.

The instrument is signed by Mathieu, elegantly constructed in guilloche ebony and steel. We can date it from the middle of the 19th century.

The hysterometers are quite rarely signed, futhermore this one is fully complete with its cursor.
