Description
A fine and large (5 inch) true Coddington lens with an ebony wood turned handle and nickeled steel or silver over brass body.
Victorian in age, 1 1/2 inch biconcave, one piece lens with NO scratches or chips. Fine knurling/machining of the lens housing and hilt. Minimal wear seen only on the hilt above the handle from usage (see photo). No dents or bruises. Magnification is ~ 10 X with a focal length of 1 inch. A must for the naturalist, coin or stamp collector. Ebony handle is flawless as is the lens housing. Handle threads into the housing of the lens securely with NO play. c.1880
