A very good and complete example of one of the most famous and typical amputation instrument : a tourniquet, here well signed by Charrière. We can date it from 1840s’.
The tourniquet is made in brass, tissues and chamois leather.
It is in general good condition, despite some spots of the chamois et a little rust on the claws that keep the fabric tight.
