A complete example of a classic Smith & Beck folding or traveling Educational microscope signed “Smith & Beck London” and numbered “2174”. According with the serial number, we can date from 1860.
The microscope preserves its three original objectives, two eyepieces, a silvered Liberkühn for objective, a camera lucida for eyepiece, four substage accessories, two glass plates for the stage and one brass plate for the stage.
Futhermore, the microscope preserves its rare stage condenser which is often missing on this model.
One accessory seems to be a late remplacement for the eyepiece polarizing apparatus.
The microscope is in good comestical and working condition.
Unfortunatly, the case is partially booken and the door is missing, otherwise the microscope and all its accessories are in good condition.
Box : 30x14x13 cm.
