Description

A good English refracting, terrestrial telescope in nickel silver (cupro nickel) and baleen with three draws by Thomas Millard c.1875.  Sliding eye cover for ocular lens and protective dust cover for the 1 1/2″ objective lens. Excellent optics. Signed ” Thos. Millard, 335 Oxford Street, London” . Some minor wear areas around the signature (first draw) and second draw collar area from use. The black baleen is perfect, without losses. Extended length is 23″ ( 58 cm.) and fully closed 7 3/4″ (20 cm.). Exceptional quality instrument in a rare combination of materials.
