Description

A large mid 19th century French laboratory mirror, although the instrument is unsigned to is very similar in construction to instruments built by the Paris firm of Duboscq.

The mirror in a gimbal with fine screw adjustment, on a single drawer column, with a heavy lead filled base.

 Possibly to be used as a rudimentary heliostat or for some type of solar experiment where a stationary spot of sunlight was required.
