Description

A pocket book-shaped travelling necessaire in silver, vermeil and galuchat, Europe, 18th century

Quite an unusual shape for this elegant personal necessaire or etui from a former book lover or bibliophile.

The necessaire does not bear hallmarks. A fine mechanism allows the content of the necessaire to be slid outside or inside.

It is complete with a pair of scissors, an ear scraper, pliers, two ivory pieces, a mechanical pencil and a small knife.
