A rare and early form with V-shaped foot by the most important and demanding Swizterland instrument makers of microscopes from the end of 19th century, Thury & Amey.
The microscope is signed “Thury & Amey Genève” and the microscope and the box bears the serial number “117”, furthermore both preserved eyepieces bears the initials “T&A”.
The microscope is a medium-size microscope procuded at the very beginning of Thury & Amey production in the early 1880s’. Thury and Amey produced simple and complexe high quality microscopes.
The microscope is finely preserved in its original travelling case, with its original mirror, its turning diaphgram, two eyepieces numbered 2 and 3 and one objective numbered 5.
The body is made in blackened brass and the tube is nickeled brass.

The microscope measures around 30,5 cm height and the box : 16x23x17 cm.
