Description

An unusual English signature for this Continental or French model of a Cary-Gould type simple and compound microscope.

Indeed, the case of this microscope allows to think that this kind of Cary-Gould type microscopes was made on the Continent and more probably in France (where they are more easier to find, even now).

This is the only example we can found with the signature of “Dollond London”.

We can date the microscope from the very early 19th century.

It is in great condition, retaining the major part of its original lacker,.

It iscomplet with its three lenses we can use separately or together or together with the compound attachment.

The microscope alsos preserved a stage tweezer, a stage livebox, and two small slides.

The box in green leather lined in orange chamois inside is in excellent condition.

A very rare signature on this continental model.
