The large model of compound microscope by Vérick is not easy to find.
This one is signed “C. Vérick / 2 rue de la Parcheminerie / Paris” and bears the serial number 6751. We can date from the last Vérick’s production, just before 1885 when Hartnack took over his business.
This is the Vérick’s large model of compound microscope with the 360e degrees rotative stage and measuring between 30 and 39 cm height. The horse-shape foot is very heavy to allow to the microscope to be used in horizontal position.
The example preserves the major part of his original lacker, he losts his original boxe. The three preserved objectives on the Vérick triple revolver are by Reichert and Stiassnie.
The mirror is original. We can note that the eyepiece is of very unusual composition : only the upper lens can be removed but this seems to be an original modification.
Good working condition.
